During the sample collection process for a Witnessed Collection Test, a Chain of Custody is established to verify the identity of the person the sample was collected from and ensure that the samples have not been tampered with at any stage. The samples must also be collected by an independent third party. By establishing this Chain of Custody, the DNA sample is documented and accounted for during the entire DNA testing process. The results from the witnessed collection test will be legally admissible and can be used for a range of legal purposes.
However, If you choose to take a self-collection DNA test, while these results are still as accurate as a witnessed collection paternity test, the results from the self-collection test cannot be used for legal purposes or in a court of law. It is meant for personal use for Peace of Mind only
The preferred sample for analysis is the oral swab (from the inside of the mouth); This is not painful or invasive and yields full complement of DNA for analysis.

A DNA test is a scientific process used to analyze an individual’s genetic material to reveal biological information. It works by examining the unique sequence of a person’s DNA, which acts like a biological blueprint. This analysis can determine a person’s biological relationships, such as with a parent, or reveal their genetic ancestry.
At Blueprint DNA, we use this technology to provide accurate and reliable services for a variety of needs. Our testing options include:
Paternity and Maternity Tests: To confirm or deny a biological relationship between a parent and child.
Ancestry Tests: To trace your family lineage and heritage.
Immigration Tests: To satisfy requirements for immigration agencies.
All of our tests are conducted in AABB-accredited laboratories, ensuring high-quality and trustworthy results.
For a standard DNA test, the primary thing needed is a DNA sample from the individuals being tested. For most of our services at Blueprint DNA, this is a simple, non-invasive process using a buccal swab, which is a cotton swab rubbed gently on the inside of the cheek.
The specific samples required depend on the type of test:
Paternity/Maternity Test: A buccal swab from the child and the alleged parent(s). Please note, we may also require the alleged parent’s official ID card.
Non-Invasive Prenatal Paternity Test: A blood sample from the mother and a buccal swab from the alleged father.
For accurate results, it is crucial that all participants refrain from eating, drinking, chewing gum, smoking, or using any mouthwash at least 30 minutes prior to the sample collection.
We make the process as easy as possible by providing all the necessary collection materials at our centers or through a convenient home kit.
Non invasive pregnancy paternity testing
As we use a mouth swab to collect the DNA samples, a DNA test can be performed at any age and as soon as a baby is born.
Prenatal testing options are also available from 8 weeks of pregnancy.
Yes. We offer paternity testing options during pregnancy. This can be done from the 8th week of pregnancy.
We use a sample of the mothers blood and analyses with alleged fathers sample.
The non invasive test option costs 9000ghs and is completely safe for mother and pregnancy. Relatively higher cost is due to lab processes required in extracting the baby DNA from mother’s blood.
This cost is however the most affordable cost for non invasive test.
The mother’s blood sample is collected at our nation-wide offices.
You are also welcome to use your own family doctor or nurse for sample collection if preferred.
Prenatal test results will be available within 12 business days of receiving your blood sample.
We have discreet testing options available.
