We’ve all seen it on daytime television: the dramatic pause, the sealed envelope, and the explosive reaction when a host shouts, “You are (or are not) the father!”
While those shows make for “good TV,” real life is different. At Blueprint DNA, we believe that one of the most important questions a person can ask deserves a private, professional, and dignified answer—not a stage and a studio audience.
Why Accuracy Matters More Than Drama
For most families, seeking a paternity test isn’t about a “cliffhanger” moment; it’s about establishing a foundation for the future. The information found in your DNA has real-world implications that last a lifetime:
- Medical Clarity: Knowing a child’s true biological history is essential for understanding genetic health risks and hereditary conditions.
- Legal & Financial Security: Establishing paternity is the first step toward securing child support, Social Security benefits, and inheritance rights.
- Emotional Peace of Mind: Living with uncertainty is stressful. Whether the result is what you expected or not, the truth allows everyone involved to move forward with clarity.
The Blueprint DNA Process: Simple, Discreet, and Fast
You don’t need a film crew to get world-class science. Our home paternity kits are designed to be as simple as possible while maintaining the highest laboratory standards.
- The Collection: Use our painless cheek swabs to collect a DNA sample in the privacy of your own home. No needles, no blood, and no stress.
- The Shipment: Send your samples back to our lab using the provided discreet packaging.
- The Result: Our scientists analyze the markers to provide a 99.9% (or higher) probability of paternity. You’ll receive your secure results via the contacts you provided on our consent forms.
Home Kits vs. Legal Tests: Which Is Right for You?
It is important to understand which “blueprint” you need for your specific situation:
- Home Paternity Test: Best for “peace of mind.” It provides the same scientific accuracy as a legal test but is intended for personal knowledge only, as the samples are self-collected.
- Legal Paternity Test: If you need results for child support, custody, or immigration, a “Chain of Custody” test is required. This involves a neutral third party verifying identities and collecting the samples.
Not sure which one you need? Our team is here to help you choose the right path.

How accurate is a Blueprint DNA home test?
Our laboratory processes every sample with the highest level of precision. A home paternity test is just as scientifically accurate as a legal, court-admissible test. If the tested man is the biological father, the results will show a probability of paternity of 99.9% or higher. If he is not the father, the result will be 0%.
Can these results be used in court?
While the science is identical, a home kit is for personal knowledge only (peace of mind). Because the samples are collected at home without a neutral third party to verify identities, the results are not typically admissible for legal matters like child support or custody. If you need results for legal reasons, please contact us about a Legal DNA Test.
Does the mother need to be tested too?
No, we can determine paternity with only samples from the child and the alleged father. However, including the mother’s DNA can provide an even more definitive “blueprint” of the child’s genetic makeup, as we can quickly eliminate the markers the child inherited from her.
How long does it take to get results?
We know that waiting is the hardest part. Once our laboratory receives your samples, results are typically ready within 8 to 10 working days.
Is the packaging discreet?
We value your privacy. All Blueprint DNA kits are shipped in plain, unmarked packaging. There is no mention of “DNA” or “Paternity” on the outside of the box or the return mailer, ensuring your business remains your own.
